Srinagar, J&K February 17, 2025 – The Emerging Bharat Welfare Foundation, under the leadership of directors Bobby Siddhu and Mahendra Turakhia Ji, successfully completed their third event, ‘The Sports Personality Awards,’ in collaboration with Tajamul Islam. This prestigious event aimed to recognize outstanding athletes, including world champions in kickboxing, para-athletes, and other exceptional sports personalities who have brought immense pride to the nation.
The event was graced by esteemed chief guest Mr. Usman Abdul Majid, former MLA from Bandipora Assembly constituency, and other dignitaries, including Digant Sharma, Director – Sponsorship and CSR for the First Shree Ram Leela in Ayodhya Dhaam, and Amir Hussain Lone, the captain of the Jammu and Kashmir para-cricket team.
Honoring Champions & Sports Icons
Tajamul Islam, founder of Haider Sports Academy and a champion kickboxer, was honored as the Guest of Honour. A dedicated advocate for women’s empowerment, Tajamul has been actively promoting education and sports opportunities for young girls, serving as a campaign ambassador for the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative. She has been a strong voice in encouraging young women to participate in combat sports and self-defense training.
The awards ceremony celebrated the achievements of numerous sports personalities, including Mouzam Wani, a remarkable athlete who has significantly contributed to the sports community. Her dedication and perseverance have made her an inspiration for aspiring athletes.
The event also recognized differently-abled athletes who have defied challenges to excel in their respective fields. Dr. Khan Shaheena, President of the Handicapped Group, was among the distinguished attendees. Her contributions toward supporting differently-abled athletes have been remarkable, and her work has inspired many to overcome obstacles and pursue their passions in sports.
