VIBGYOR ’s 16-yr-old Aditya Jha recognised internationally for healthcare innovation
VIBGYOR Group of Schools, India’s most notable chain of K-12 schools, strives to consistently provide students with a globally recognised and academically rigorous education, setting them up for success on the global stage. Our students are testament to VIBGYOR’s global approach and one such student is Aditya Kumar Jha, a 16-year-old from VIBGYOR High in Mumbai.
As a science student, Aditya has etched a name for himself with his work in healthcare innovation. Recently, the 16-year-old made waves on the global stage at the prestigious Future Port Youth Conference 2024 held in Prague, Czech Republic. He presented his ground-breaking research on early detection of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Out of the several student speakers who were invited, Aditya earned the distinction of being the youngest speaker to date.
The event brought together visionaries and industry leaders such as Stephen Ibaraki, Alvin Wang and Jan Spratek to discuss transformative ideas for the future. Among the distinguished speakers at the conference, three high school students had the opportunity to showcase their work. Among them, Aditya’s contributions stood out, earning him a spot in the Top Three Impact Awards for his efforts in advancing healthcare innovation.
The Future Port Youth Conference, an extension of the prestigious Future Port Prague, highlights ground-breaking innovation and technology while inspiring the next generation of change-makers. Aditya’s achievement stands as a powerful reminder of the incredible impact young minds can have in shaping a better future.
This is not the first time Aditya has bagged an award or made a noteworthy presentation on his research. The young science geek, in 2023, had presented his research on the discovery of therapeutic targets for non-small cell lung cancer at the Lumiere Research Programme 2023. He also managed to reach the finals of Genius Olympiad in 2023 and perform remarkably well at the Youth Ideathon 2023 – a startup competition conducted by ThinkStartup at IIT Delhi.
Reacting to Aditya’s achievements, VIBGYOR Vice-Chairperson Kavita Kerawalla said, “Aditya’s work in healthcare innovation not only brings pride to our school group but also serves as an inspiration for students across the country. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and cannot wait to see how he continues to shape the future. At VIBGYOR, we believe in nurturing young innovators who think beyond boundaries, and success like Aditya’s exemplifies this vision.”
The teenager has also won at the STEMposium conference at IISc Bangalore and bagged the 2nd prize at Techniche 2023 organised by TechExpo at IIT Guwahati. In 2024, he was also a finalist at the IRIS National Fair where he has won twice in the past.
While Aditya Jha has made a mark in competitions and exhibitions, his enthusiasm was aptly rewarded when he got accepted to the Science Internship Program (SIP) at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2024. The internship spanned 7 weeks with a focus on bioengineering research.
At VIBGYOR. every student is encouraged to explore their passions, push boundaries and develop the skills needed to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Under the leadership of Founder Chairman Rustom Kerawalla, VIBGYOR Group of Schools is nurturing the academic growth and development of over 50,000 students nationwide across its 39 schools in 15 major cities.
