Uttar Pradesh Tourism announced as the official ‘Tourism Partner’ of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025

Mumbai, Maharashtra: Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF), widely recognized as India’s most prestigious Awards Ceremony, is set to yet again celebrate the country’s rich cinematic heritage. The authorities officially announced on their social media platform, the continuation of their esteemed affiliation with Uttar Pradesh Tourism as the official Tourism Partner for the 2025 edition of the Award Ceremony.

 

Uttar Pradesh is known for its rich history, vibrant culture and significant contributions to Indian cinema. The state has been the backdrop for many iconic films and continues to be a source of inspiration for filmmakers across the country. The state holds significant religious and cultural importance, being central to the Mahabharata war and the birthplace of Lord Buddha’s teachings in Sarnath. From ancient civilizations to colonial rule, Uttar Pradesh has been at the heart of India’s historical narrative.

 

Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025 will pay tribute to the Film and Entertainment Industry in India and will take place on 20th February, 2025 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, in the presence of celebrities, media personnel, government delegates, embassy ambassadors and heavyweights from other leading industries.

 

Anil Mishra, Managing Director of DPIFF and Consultative Committee Member of FCI (U.P.) into Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & PD, Government of India, asserted on the consecutive association, stating, “We are delighted to continue our affiliation with Uttar Pradesh Tourism for Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025. Over the years, DPIFF has had the privilege of promoting the tourism of more than 12 states across India, each with its unique cultural and historical significance. Our collaboration with state tourism boards is a testament to our commitment to showcasing the diverse heritage and scenic beauty that India has to offer. Uttar Pradesh, with its rich history and vibrant culture, has always been a cornerstone of this mission. We look forward to continuing our flourishing association, ensuring that the art of cinema remains intertwined with the exploration of India’s most iconic destinations.”

 

Uttar Pradesh holds a special place in India’s cultural landscape. The state is the birthplace of great sages, the origin of major religions, and the inspiration for India’s epic tales, the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Known for its spiritual and cultural landmarks, Uttar Pradesh is home to Varanasi: the spiritual capital of India, Prayagraj: where the sacred rivers Ganga and Yamuna converge and Agra: famed for its breath-taking Mughal architecture. The state’s vibrant festivals, such as Holi in Barsana and the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, attract visitors from around the world, offering a deep dive into India’s diverse culture and spiritual heritage.

Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival has consistently championed the principles of sustainability, driving environmental and social initiatives through a robust array of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities that yield tangible results year after year. DPIFF remains steadfast in its mission to elevate Indian tourism on a global platform through the art of cinema. With the “We For World Foundation” registered under Niti Aayog, the festival actively promotes the unique attributes of each state while supporting the Vocal for Local Campaign.

 

The 2025 ceremony features the theme ‘A World Stage: The Global Legacy of Indian Cinema’. This theme honours the lasting impact of Indian films on global cinema, highlighting both their historical significance and contemporary relevance. It celebrates the worldwide recognition of Indian cinema and its contributions to the enrichment of international film culture. The ceremony acknowledges all three major segments: the Indian Film Industry, the Indian Television Industry and the International Film Fraternity, under one roof. The occasion will showcase cultural diversity, rich heritage, world-famous Indian cuisine, folk dance, folk music, handloom and the beauty of Swadeshi.
