Their findings highlight an urgent public safety crisis as the building poses a significant risk of collapse even from minor seismic activity or heavy rainfall.

The Nanking Chinese Restaurant tragedy in 2012 is a grim reminder, when one chef died and Restaurant owner injured . Now, concerns have mounted over another dilapidated restaurant building, where again the safety of patrons is at stake. Action must come before it’s too late. The comprehensive report outlines that the Nanking Chinese Restaurant is now deemed uninhabitable due to extensive structural damage, including severe water accumulation and widespread cracking throughout the structure. “With hundreds of visitors frequenting the restaurant daily, the ongoing risk associated with the Nanking Restaurant is alarming. “This building, in its current state, is a ticking time bomb. The distressing conditions—including blown-out plastering, cracked walls, rusted iron bars, and separation of slab blocks—further illustrate the urgent need for the authorities to act decisively.”

Historically, similar incidents across the twin cities have resulted in devastating outcomes, with many lives lost beneath the rubble of dilapidated structures. It is Secunderabad, 2013 hotel collapse nightmare where 13 people lost their life and 15 were injured. Today again, there is a threat to the dining safety of one more building. Urgent steps are a must for visitor’s safety. The Nanking Chinese Restaurant issues not only jeopardize the safety of its occupants but also threaten the well-being of families residing and working in the vicinity.

“It is imperative that the GHMC responds with urgency and responsibility. The potential for human tragedy must not be overlooked.”

We urge residents and visitors to exercise extreme caution around the Nanking Chinese Restaurant at Park Lane, S.P. Road, Secunderabad and to remain informed about updates from local authorities regarding the future of this hazardous structure.
