Omkar Prasad Baidya, the multi talented Man whose life is nothing short of Inspiration

Early Life and Education

Dr Omkar Prasad Baidya was born on 1984, Agartala, Tripura, India. He is an Indian doctor, philosopher, author, and faculty for Physiology at a Medical Institute, Kolkata.  Baidya completed his hometown schooling at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School before pursuing his passion for medicine. Baidya received his MBBS degree from the RIMS, Imphal, Manipur, in 2009 and his MD degree from the same institute in 2012. His thirst for knowledge and desire to make a difference in medicine led him to pursue the prestigious ICMR-sponsored Post MD-PhD program in 2013. He completed the program and was awarded his Ph.D. from KGMU, Lucknow, in 2019. Baidya’s dedication to his craft has led him to attain numerous certifications and accreditations from renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins Medical School, the American College of Cardiology, SAGES, AGA, EFNS, the American Diabetes Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, Cincinnati University, Boston University, Wake Forest University, the University of Toronto, Canada, the American College of Chest Physicians, ACCP, AAFP, Yale University, the American College of Gastroenterology, the University of California, the European Federation of Neurological Societies, Cleveland Clinic, the American College of Physicians, Texas Heart Institute, the University of Wisconsin, Royal College of Psychiatrist, Royal College of General Practitioner, Duke University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, American College of Preventive Medicine, and an Associate of Rome etc and many more. 

Work 

He has written and published various books on moral philosophy, world peace, universal ethics, and morality. His books have brought attention to the importance of human virtues in shaping lives and solving all human problems. He envisions bringing philanthropic change in the world via moral leadership. In his book “A Path to World Peace,” Dr. Baidya has shown that how human virtues play a crucial role in shaping civilization and human lives. He also suggests that universal religion can play a significant role in establishing peace worldwide. According to Baidya, human virtues like compassion, forgiveness, and nonviolence can form three pillars of world peace. In another book on morality, ‘Morality beyond human brain’ Dr Baidya introduces a new concept and theory of morality, present in all living cells, which is important for the survival and existence of life on this planet and beyond. He presents a mathematical model and equation for intrinsic morality, which nature has given to all living creatures to win over the struggle for existence. Baidya has shown that both morality and immorality are essential for our living on earth, and human extrinsic morality can be acquired through moral education, moral philosophy, and human values. He believes that world peace is a function of human morality. In his ‘nature and morality’ book, Baidya emphasizes the existence of God as a moral planner of the cosmic world. As a physician with a desire for a peaceful world, he has inclined himself towards moral philosophy along with physiology and medical streams. His works have earned him a reputation as an exceptional author and a thought leader in moral and ethical philosophy. Dr. Omkar Prasad Baidya’s contributions to healthcare and education have been widely acknowledged, and his efforts towards promoting moral leadership and philanthropy have earned him the respect and admiration of people from all walks of life.

Dr. Omkar Prasad Baidya is a distinguished personality who has received numerous National and International awards and recognitions for his outstanding contributions in the field of healthcare, education, and philanthropy. He has been honoured with several prestigious Awards, including the Dr. BR Ambedkar National Award, Dr. BR Ambedkar International Award, Bharat Sree Award, Bharat Bhushan Samman, Bharat Vibhushan, Mahatma Gandhi Nobel Peace Award, Nelson Mandela Nobel Peace Award, Rashtriya Sadbhabana Award, Rashtriya Ekta Puraskar, Best Citizen of India Award 2022, Rashtriya Prerna Award, Rashtriya Chikitsa National Award, Nelson Mandela International Peace Award, Asia Peace Prize, Gandhi Mandela Award, Bharat Gaurav Samman, Banga Gaurav Samman, and Mahatma Gandhi International Nobel Peace Award, to name a few.
