Chenani based Lalitha Cherukumudi wins the 2025 Mrs Universe Colorado Award

Chennai, India 16-December-2024: Lalitha Cherukumudi, a Chennai native and a techie in the US, received the Mrs Universe Colorado Award at the 2025 Mrs Universe USA Awards ceremony held in the US. The My Dream TV Mrs Universe USA event was held on this December 1^st week at the Royal Albert Palace Hall in New York City. More than 40 participants contested in preliminary rounds and 15 participants selected for the final round. More than 1500 people attuned the event and the live stream of this event attracted around 1 million viewers globally. The Jury Panel included Neelam Kothari, Bollywood Star & Reality TV Celebrity, along with several former Miss Universe USA winners and others distinguished pageant champions.

The event had 3 different categories of awards, such as Miss Universe USA 2025, Mrs Universe USA 2025 and Mrs Universe USA Elite 2025. In this event, Lalitha Cherukumudi was crowned Mrs. Universe Colorado 2025, recognizing her as the reigning beauty queen in the Mrs. Category for Colorado for the upcoming year.

Speaking after the award, Lalitha said, “It is a great honor to receive this crown. As a mom of two children and a busy corporate professional, this achievement reaffirms that anyone can take time for themselves and accomplish something extraordinary. I am committed to leveraging this platform to advocate for causes close to my heart, including child homelessness and women’s empowerment. I have already begun working with the Mayor of Denver and the Chief of Sheriffs in Colorado to address these critical issues”.

Lalitha completed her bachelor of engineering degree in Chennai and finished her Master’s in Electrical Engineering in 2011. She began her career in the United States working for multinational corporations such as Walmart, Boeing, and Charles Schwab. Today, she serves as a Technology Product Leader at Gap Inc., a global powerhouse that owns brands like Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta, and Old Navy and works with diverse teams across North America, Europe, India, and Pakistan, exemplifying her global mindset and leadership prowess. In 2017, Lalitha married her soulmate, Sandeep, and the couple is now proud parents to two young boys—Rohan, aged five, and Siddharth, aged two. The family resides in the scenic city of Denver, Colorado, where Lalitha balances her roles as a mother, wife, and corporate leader with remarkable grace.

Lalitha is particularly passionate about combating domestic abuse and uplifting women through education and opportunity. She has already begun making strides in her advocacy work, meeting with the Mayor of Denver to discuss initiatives for helping homeless children. She has also collaborated with local law enforcement to explore strategies to address child abuse and domestic violence in her community. As Mrs. Universe Colorado 2024, Lalitha is committed to using her platform to inspire others, create positive change, and remind everyone that it’s never too late to chase your dreams. With her unwavering determination and compassionate heart, Lalitha is poised to leave a lasting legacy both on and off the stage.
